Today, Tuesday, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hunaiti, visited the Zain Innovation Platform (ZINC) at its headquarters in the King Hussein Business Park, where he was received by the CEO of Zain Jordan, Fahd Al-Jassem.
Major General Al-Hunaiti listened, in the presence of a number of Directors of the General Command, to a detailed explanation provided by Zain’s CEO about the platform’s objectives and strategic vision, and the modern technological equipment and equipment it contains that keep pace with global developments, in addition to the platform’s role in enhancing the digital economy and enabling Jordanian developers to innovate solutions that contribute to raising the Kingdom’s competitiveness and consolidating its position as a regional center for technology and innovation.
The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the attendees toured the Zain Regional Data and Disaster Recovery Center (THE BUNKER), which is the first of its kind in the Middle East, and provides the latest technical solutions specialized in managing and preserving data and information, in addition to services for protecting and securing data and networks from hacks and cyber attacks for various institutions according to their needs and requirements, ensuring the continuity of their business even in cases of emergencies and natural disasters.
The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff also reviewed the latest systems and technologies used in data protection and business continuity, and the advanced capabilities provided by the center in the fields of cybersecurity and disaster recovery, in line with national trends in digital transformation and enhancing the technological infrastructure.
Major General Al-Hunaiti stressed the keenness of the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army to support the innovation system and contribute to providing an integrated environment that allows local talents to access specialized knowledge, pointing out the importance of keeping pace with global technological developments and continuing to qualify youth and emerging companies to deal with rapid transformations, especially in the fields of artificial intelligence.
For his part, Zain Jordan CEO Al-Jassem welcomed the visit of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, stressing that this visit comes as an extension of the ongoing cooperation that brings together Zain Jordan with the Armed Forces, expressing the company’s pride in this constructive cooperation with the military institution, which represents a source of pride and pride for all Jordanians.
Al-Jassim pointed out that this cooperation embodies a pioneering model of effective partnership between official and military institutions and private sector companies, which contributes to exchanging experiences and employing national capabilities to serve Jordan and the Jordanians.
The visit comes within the framework of the General Command of the Armed Forces’ keenness to enhance communication with various state institutions and the private sector, expand horizons of cooperation, and learn about the latest technologies and smart systems that support the process of modernization and development and contribute to achieving national goals in the areas of digital transformation and innovation.
It is noteworthy that the Zain Innovation Platform (ZINC) was opened in 2014 under the royal patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein and Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, with the aim of keeping pace with digital transformation and harnessing technology to empower young people and entrepreneurs, help them build their networks of relationships, expand their horizons, and enhance their contribution to economic development.
