Israel’s attacks on Syria and Lebanon have reached the point of threatening Turkey, Turkish president said Recep Tayyip Erdogann.
“Syria and Lebanon are two independent states. However, these two states, Syria and Lebanon, are also in the geography of love and brotherhood with Turkey. Damascus and Beirut are twin cities of Istanbul. Turkey’s security starts not only from Hatay, but also from Aleppo, Damascus. Turkey’s security starts in Beirut. We will not tolerate any fait accompli in our brother countries. We will not tolerate any attack against our brothers».
The Turkish president also spoke of provocations led by Israel in the Mediterranean, where, he warned, “no one should seek adventure.”
“We know that there are attempts to foment discord on the island of Cyprus and we are following the developments very closely. Some small entities, whose ambitions far exceed their size, have boarded Israel’s ship of discord and assumed the role of subcontractors of Zionism. They claim to be chasing some dreams in the Eastern Mediterranean. I say it very clearly: no one should seek adventures there and follow the zionist network of murderers. If the rights and interests of Turkey and Turkish Cypriots are threatened in the Eastern Mediterranean, our response will be very clear and very harsh“, he warned.
The Turkish president repeated that Israel’s aggression threatens the whole world and must be stopped.
Speaking to ruling party lawmakers in Parliament, Erdogan said Turkey attaches great importance to the upcoming NATO summit to be held in Ankara in July.
As he said, the participation of the American president, Donald Trump, in the meeting is an important step for the unity of the Alliance.
