While every year the same search for a quiet corner of the Adriaticinfar from overcrowded beaches, loud music and fighting for a place under an umbrella, on the Pelješac peninsula there is still a place that seems to defy modern tourism. We are talking about Prapratna, a small bay that captivates with its crystal clear sea, sandy beach and an atmosphere rarely found on the Croatian coast today.
Located just a few kilometers from Ston, Prapratno is one of those places that is not on the lists of the most popular summer destinations, but this is precisely where its greatest asset lies. Here there are no large hotel complexes, crowded promenades and continuous noise. Instead, visitors are greeted by pine forests, rocky shores and an unreal blue sea.
The special attraction of this place is given by the sandy beach, which is a real rarity on the Dalmatian coast. Thanks to the sheltered location of the bay, the sea is mostly calm and shallow, so Prapratno is a favorite among families with children, but also for everyone who wants a carefree vacation away from the most visited tourist centers.

The most beautiful thing about Prapratny is its simplicity. While many places on the Adriatic are rapidly changing under the pressure of mass tourism, here nature is still the main star. The days pass in swimming, sunbathing and easy walks by the sea, without the need to constantly rush somewhere.
Prapratno also has an important traffic role because the ferry to Mljet departs from here, more precisely to the town of Sobra. However, despite the ferry dock, the place has not lost its peaceful character and remains primarily a destination for rest and enjoying nature.
There is also a camp in the immediate vicinity of the beach, which is why it is often chosen by lovers of outdoor activities. The mornings here smell of pines and the sea, and the evenings pass with sunsets and the sounds of crickets.
Prapratno may not have big attractions, luxurious marinas or spectacular events, but this is precisely the reason why many consider it one of the most beautiful hidden corners of the southern Adriatic. At a time when numerous coastal destinations are increasingly busy and expensive, this small bay reminds us that sometimes just a little sea, shade and silence is enough for a perfect summer vacation, writes N1 Slovenia.
