Bir Lehlou (Sahrawi Republic), June 6, 2026 (SPS) – Mr. Bashir Mustapha Sayed, member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, President of the National Council, sent a congratulatory message to Mr. Jacob Marksons Oboth, following his recent election as the Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda.
Mr. Bashir Mustapha Sayed expressed his great pleasure and delight at Mr. Oboth’s well-deserved confidence received from his fellow parliamentarians and his election to lead the Ugandan Parliament.
He stressed that this occasion provides an excellent opportunity to reaffirm the steady commitment to further strengthening the longstanding relations of friendship and cooperation between the Sahrawi National Council and the Parliament of the sister Republic of Uganda, with the aim of advancing the shared aspirations and interests of the two brotherly peoples.
The President of the National Council also highly praised the principled position consistently demonstrated by the Republic of Uganda in support of the legitimate struggle of the Sahrawi people for freedom and independence.
