OpenAI is planning its biggest-ever overhaul of ChatGPT, with the aim of turning it into a “super-app” with coding tools and AI agents to boost revenue ahead of a potential IPO, the Financial Times reported on Sunday.
The changes are part of a broader reorganization of OpenAI, as the company redirects resources to lucrative business clients and intensifies competition with rival Anthropic, the report said, citing more than a dozen current and former employees.

Codex in focus and new interface
The overhaul will give more prominence and resources to OpenAI’s Codex coding product, and the changes should be rolled out in the coming weeks, first through updates to the ChatGPT website and mobile apps, he said. Financial Times.
