The Chinese President arrives in North Korea for a two-day visit
Chinese President Xi Jinping began a two-day visit to North Korea on Monday, which will include discussions with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
This is the first visit by the Chinese President to the internationally isolated country in about seven years.
It is noteworthy that the Chinese President and the North Korean leader met six times in the past.
According to Beijing, it is expected that bilateral relations and common interests will dominate the agenda of the discussions.
Before his visit to North Korea, Xi Jinping spoke of “new opportunities for development” for the two countries, in an editorial in the Rodong Sinmun newspaper, affiliated with the North Korean Party.
