NATO countries are discussing a new package of financial support for Ukraine, which will include a total of 70 billion euros. As reported “Armenpress”citing Deutsche Welle, it is planned to announce this at the summit of the alliance to be held in Ankara on July 7-8.
The proposal circulated by Germany in May includes, among other components, a new mechanism to increase the transparency of Ukraine’s funding, amid complaints from a number of countries about the disproportionate distribution of the burden of supporting Kiev.
“The main thing is to secure firm commitments to support Ukraine in a stable and fairer way at the Ankara summit,” the message states. Negotiations are still at an early stage, and the conference of NATO defense ministers to be held at the end of June can serve as a platform for reaching an agreement.
