His Campos Racing teammate Noel Leon took the win. The Mexican started first and did not lose the lead until the finish. It was his second success in Formula 2. Tsolov finished 51.5 seconds behind him.
Second was Roman Bilinski from DAMS Lucas Oil. The Pole finished 3.4 seconds behind the winner. Championship leader Gabriele Mini of MP Motorsport finished third. He was 4.0 seconds behind.
Drivers avoided risky attacks due to the characteristics of the Monte Carlo street circuit, where overtaking is difficult.
Tsolov set the sixth time in Thursday’s only free practice. In Friday’s qualifying, the Bulgarian was the fastest in Group B. So he will start from the front row in the main race on Sunday.
The start is at 10:25 a.m. Bulgarian time.
