His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, stressed that World Environment Day represents an occasion to renew the commitment to protecting the environment of the State of Qatar and preserving its natural resources, as a national responsibility linked to the quality of life and supporting sustainable development paths.
His Excellency said, in a post on the official account of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change on the “X” platform, that the Ministry continues to establish an environmental approach based on proactive planning, scientific monitoring and effective oversight, ensuring that the balance is maintained between the requirements of development and environmental protection.
He pointed out that the Ministry is continuing to implement plans and programs aimed at enhancing environmental sustainability and improving the environmental monitoring and inspection system, in addition to supporting efforts aimed at preserving natural resources and biodiversity, in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030.
In a related context, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change called for raising awareness of the importance of reducing emissions and reducing risks associated with climate change, on the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, stressing the importance of strengthening joint efforts to protect the environment and support sustainability.
In a post on its official account on the “X” platform, the Ministry stressed the importance of developing policies, plans and programs concerned with reducing emissions and mitigating the effects of climate change, in a way that contributes to supporting sustainable development and preserving natural resources for future generations.
She pointed out that confronting climate change is no longer limited to national policies only, but rather requires international cooperation and the adoption of daily practices that contribute to reducing emissions and enhancing the efficiency of resource use.
The Ministry pointed out that current environmental indicators confirm the importance of accelerating efforts to confront the effects of climate change, in light of the increasing heat waves, high temperatures, and changing climate patterns, which requires strengthening adaptation plans and reducing environmental risks.
The Ministry stressed the continuation of its efforts in implementing environmental initiatives and expanding awareness programs, in a way that enhances environmental protection and supports the achievement of sustainable development goals and the Qatar National Vision 2030.
