Tajikistan has once again proven its status as the “water tower” of Central Asia and a key player in the global environmental agenda. It is on the territory of our country that about 60% of the water resources of the entire region are formed, so the problems of melting glaciers here are not just a theory, but a harsh reality. Another important issue is the population’s access to drinking water.
The International Conference, which ended in Dushanbe, became a real “living laboratory”, where over 150 world speakers were looking for ways to turn paper agreements into real megawatts and clean drinking water for millions of people.
From the proposal to create a “Dushanbe Framework Program” and the establishment of a new International Prize in the field of water resources to study tours to the main construction site of the region – the Rogun hydroelectric power station.
How does the country plan to increase the population’s access to centralized water supply to 90% and what future technologies are already ready for implementation?
Special report from the conference fields – watch here.
