Oktoberfest visitors will be greeted by more expensive beer this year as well. For a liter pint in the festival tents, they will have to spend up to 15.90 euros, which is an average of 2.38 percent more than last year, the Munich authorities announced.
The price of a liter of beer this year will range from 14.80 to 15.90 euros. Last year, a liter pint cost between 14.50 and 15.80 euros. Soft drinks will also be more expensive. A liter of water will cost 11.13 euros on average, while last year the average price was 10.95 euros. You will need to spend 12.84 euros for a liter of Spezija, and 12.47 euros for a liter of lemonade.
The City of Munich points out that beer prices are determined by the restaurateurs themselves. The city authorities are only checking whether they are appropriate compared to the prices in other large catering establishments in the city, where a liter of beer currently costs between 7.70 and 13.40 euros.
This year, Oktoberfest takes place from September 19 to October 4. More than six million visitors are once again expected at the largest folk festival in the world. Last year, Oktoberfest attracted 6.7 million people, who drank around 6.5 million liters of beer.
