Based on a REGIO online survey, most parents surprise their children on Children’s Day not only with gifts but also with experiences and activities. Most families spend between 5,000 and 10,000 forints (around (14–28 euros, 1 euro = 359 forints) on gifts, the toy retailer told MTI on Wednesday.
The survey, which was conducted between May 13 and 20 with the participation of 1,248 parents and grandparents raising children under the age of 14, found that 81% of parents also organize some kind of shared experience for the last Sunday in May. The most common activities include outings, local Children’s Day events, going out for ice cream, as well as visits to the zoo and wildlife parks.

Creative and outdoor toys are most popular among younger children, while board games, LEGO, and creative kits are favored by 4- to 10-year-olds, and board games are the top choice for the 11- to 14-year-old age group.
Demand for outdoor toys and garden products is increasing during this period as the summer season approaches, they noted.
