PARIS – France has requested an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council due to Israeli military operations in Lebanon, said French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barot.
“Nothing can justify the extension of military operations in Lebanon and the deepening occupation of Lebanese territory,” Baro said in an interview with BFMTV, adding that this is a big mistake for Israel.
Baro called on the United States and Iran to reach an agreement because, as he stated, the current situation is unsustainable.
“We feel the consequences of the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz on a daily basis and in general its impact on the global and French economy. Therefore, this must stop,” said Baro.
