The country’s markets have recently witnessed the launch of innovative competitive initiatives by companies specialized in the trade of sacrificial animals, which included offering offers and facilities aimed at attracting consumers and motivating them to buy, most notably the possibility of installments of the value of the sacrifices, through applications specialized in services for installments of purchases, in addition to organizing draws for various prizes for buyers.
Emirates Today monitored offers that provide consumers with the opportunity to enter raffles via purchasing vouchers, to win cash prizes worth up to 100,000 dirhams, in addition to other offers that include a raffle for cars and iPhone 17 smartphone gifts. An auction selling sacrifices also announced the allocation of prizes for the sacrifices with the highest weight.
Consumers confirmed to Emirates Today that launching these initiatives for the first time in the markets provides additional benefits for those wishing to purchase sacrificial animals, whether through payment facilities in installments, or through opportunities to win cash and in-kind prizes through various draws.
At a time when livestock traders said that the increased intensity of competition between companies and merchants was a major factor in the emergence of these offers and initiatives to attract consumers, an expert in consumer protection affairs considered that the rise in the prices of some sacrificial animals prompted merchants to search for additional means to facilitate their purchase and increase sales.
In detail, consumer Ibrahim Ali said that introducing new initiatives for the first time in sacrificial markets, focusing on giving buyers the ability to pay the value of the sacrificial animals in installments, is one of the important advantages that greatly contribute to facilitating purchases, especially in light of the rise in prices of some types of sacrificial animals during the current period.
For his part, consumer Mahmoud Samir considered that the launch of new initiatives and facilities by livestock supply companies, whether by providing installment services for purchases, or giving buyers the opportunity to enter draws for various prizes, represents a qualitative addition to the services provided to consumers.
In turn, consumer Wael Badir said that the new privileges offered by companies supplying and selling livestock, especially services for installments of the purchase value of sacrifices, are considered among the modern services that support the demand for purchasing sacrifices, indicating that consumers can now benefit from the installment solutions available through specialized applications, and pay the value of the sacrifices during the months following the purchase process, which gives them greater financial flexibility.
In the same context, livestock trader, Qasim Shaheen, confirmed that the local markets are currently witnessing a high level of competition among merchants, which has prompted many of them to adopt initiatives aimed at stimulating sales and attracting more consumers, whether by organizing prize draws, or by providing facilities for purchasing purchases in installments.
He explained that the abundant supply of sacrifices in large quantities contributed significantly to increasing the intensity of competition among merchants.
For his part, livestock trader, Saeed Abdullah, said that livestock trading companies have tended for the first time to offer innovative initiatives, including paying sacrificial purchases in installments, or giving buyers cash prizes and gifts through raffles linked to purchases.
He explained that some companies give the buyer more than one entry voucher into the draw, according to the value of the sacrifice purchased, pointing out that the escalation of competition among merchants during the current period was the main reason behind launching such initiatives.
Livestock trader, Tariq Othman, agreed with him that the high level of competitiveness, in addition to the increase in the prices of some types of sacrificial animals, prompted some merchants and companies to adopt new marketing methods in the sector, including initiatives to installment purchases, or offering cash prizes and various gifts to buyers.
He stressed that these offers not only contribute to stimulating sales, but also provide consumers with additional services and benefits that encourage them to purchase.
As for retail trade affairs expert, Ibrahim Al-Bahr, he told Emirates Al-Youm that the local markets are witnessing for the first time this type of competition in the sacrificial trade, by offering cash prizes and facilities for installments of purchases, which reflects the increased intensity of competition among merchants.
