The former attorney general María Consuelo Porras He appeared publicly this Tuesday, June 2, when he left the Ministry of Public Finance building, in zone 1 of the capital.
When approached by the press, they asked her what her plans were after leaving office and she responded: «What do you think? “Continue practicing the profession.”
Without stopping to answer the journalists, another question was: “Former prosecutor, if they file complaints against you, are you going to face them or flee the country?” Porras indicated: “Like every honest and responsible citizen.”
Then, supported by her security, María Consuelo Porras boarded a vehicle and left without explaining the reason for her visit to the Ministry of Public Finance. However, it was later learned that Porras went to the User Service Center in the State’s civil passive classes area.
Porras left the position of attorney general of the Public Ministry on May 16, after concluding his term at the head of that institution.
Now the position is held by Attorney General Gabriel García Luna, who was appointed by President Bernardo Arévalo after receiving the list of candidates from the nominating commission.
After Porras left the MP, several prosecutors have resigned from their positions and former prosecutor Rafael Curruchiche, who was in charge of the Special Prosecutor’s Office against Impunity, was dismissed.
