The international exhibition and fair, Turkmentextile Expo 2026, opens in Ashgabat today. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed the forum’s participants and guests with a congratulatory message.
“I sincerely congratulate you on the opening of the international exhibition and fair “Turkmenextile Expo – 2026”, held in Ashgabat in the “Independent neutral Turkmenistan is the homeland of purposeful winged horses!” The weaving customs of the Turkmen people, rooted in the depths of centuries, are an important component of the national cultural heritage, a visible expression of creative talent, diligence, and a supreme love of beauty. Today, the development of national weaving art, its enrichment with new content, and its popularization worldwide are among the priorities of state policy, successfully implemented,” the Address states.
To develop the textile industry, the focus is currently on combining national heritage, noble traditions and customs, and the artistic principles of the people with modern, innovative technologies. This concept allows for the preservation of the national identity of textiles, the deeper expression of their artistic value, and increased international competitiveness.
Turkmenistan’s environmentally friendly textile products are recognized in international markets for their high quality, natural raw materials, and competitiveness. Today, Turkmen textiles are successfully exported to dozens of countries worldwide, clearly demonstrating Turkmenistan’s growing economic potential and expanding international economic cooperation.
The international exhibition and fair, held in the modern building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, provides an opportunity to learn about the achievements of the domestic textile industry, expand mutually beneficial ties with foreign partners, implement new investment projects, and exchange innovative experiences.
“I am confident that the successful holding of the international exhibition and fair ‘Turkmenextile Expo – 2026’ will make a significant contribution to the further development of the domestic textile industry and the strengthening of international cooperation,” the President concluded, wishing everyone good health, a long life, and great success in their work, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
