The president of the Democratic People’s Party, Milan Knežević, said that “the non-arrival of Aleksandar Vučić in Montenegro would be a bad message”.
According to media reports in Serbia, he appealed to Vučić to think about coming to the Summit in Tivat.
Knežević assessed that there are areas in Montenegro where, as he claims, “the police do not have full control”, and expressed concern about the general security situation.
Commenting on the return of Serbian citizens today from the airport in Tivat, which the Police Directorate and ANB announced were persons of security interest, he said that “security assessments should not be based on the external appearance of passengers”.
“Montenegro has managed to export both Kavčani and Škaljar to Serbia, Europe and across the Meridian, and Vučić is their main target. With his arrival in Montenegro, they would probably try to do something regarding his safety. But I believe that the people who provide for him have taken all this into account. I believe that the people who are guarding Vučić will know best what to do as far as the Kotor-Lovćen cable car ride and dinner at Njeguši are concerned,” said Knežević.
