The head of the so-called Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov announced that refueling with the better quality A-95 unleaded gasoline will be a priority for public and social transport. Citizens will have the right to load only with special coupons, but without limits on the quantity.
However, a ceiling of 20 liters per car has been introduced for the more common A-92 gasoline. In addition, tube filling becomes prohibited.
Restrictions are initially introduced for a period of 30 days.
Aksyonov announced the new measures yesterday amid the spread of videos on the Internet of long queues outside petrol stations in Crimea.
The Black Sea peninsula has served as a supply base for Russian troops in southern Ukraine since the start of the war in 2022. As a result, Crimea has increasingly come under drone and missile strikes by the Ukrainian armed forces, with oil facilities a priority target.
