    ​The head of the Cairo Sanitation Department inspects the new Mokattam station to begin trial operation


    ​Engineer Adel Hassan, Chairman of the Board of Directors Greater Cairo Sanitation CompanyOn an inspection tour of the new Mokattam sewage station, to follow the final stages of operational trial work, in preparation for the station to officially enter service during the coming period.

    ​The company’s president confirmed that the new Mokattam station represents one of the company’s main and pivotal projects, noting that the massive expansion work witnessed by the station comes in line with the state’s comprehensive plan to develop the infrastructure of the sewage system and raise the level of services provided to citizens.
    ​

    Engineer Adel Hassan added that these expansions directly contributed to doubling the station’s capacity to reach 120 thousand cubic meters per day, which enhances its ability to accommodate Population increases Continuing, developing operating efficiency, as well as developing radical solutions to sanitation problems in the Mokattam neighborhood.
    ​

    Implementation challenges: Two years of continuous work within residential blocks

    In a related context, the head of the Greater Cairo Sanitation Company indicated that the completion of this project took two years of diligent and continuous work, 24 hours a day without stopping.



    He explained that the technical and engineering crews faced great challenges during the implementation period, the most important of which was extending the main line routes and passing them inside densely packed residential blocks, which represented the most difficult obstacle that was dealt with successfully and with high professionalism.

    Emphasis on careful follow-up to monitor any technical observations

    At the conclusion of his tour, Engineer Adel Hassan stressed to the supervising crews the necessity of vigilant and continuous follow-up of all stages of the current trial operation, and to monitor any observations or technical obstacles and deal with them and resolve them immediately.



    He stressed that this discount aims to ensure that the station enters service at its full capacity and operational capacity, in order to achieve the maximum benefit from this national project, which will have a positive and tangible impact on the efficiency of the sewage system in the entire region.
