Tazabek – Today, June 2, the President Sadyr Japarov took part in the official opening ceremony of the new office of Eldik Bank.
Speaking at the event, the head of state congratulated employees of the banking system on this event and said that the history of savings in Kyrgyzstan goes back 100 years.
According to the president, the foundation of savings activities in Kyrgyzstan was laid in 1925, when the first state savings banks were opened in Frunze, Osh and Zhany-Zholsky district, now Aksy.
“Then work began not only on storing money, but also on money transfers, issuing savings certificates and providing other financial services,” he said.
Sadyr Japarov said that over the past century, savings has gone from the first savings banks to the modern and steadily developing banking system of independent Kyrgyzstan.
He recalled that two years ago the bank returned its historical name and became a joint stock company “Eldik Bank”.
“Behind this century-long path is the work of bank employees, the trust of millions of citizens, the development of the economy and the strengthening of the statehood of Kyrgyzstan,” the president said.
The head of state noted that the country’s banking system is entering a new stage of development. According to him, the financial system is becoming an important element of a new economic model based on long-term investment, technological innovation and sustainable growth.
The President emphasized that digital transformation is one of the main directions of state policy and an important factor in the sustainable socio-economic development of the country.
“The Kyrgyz Republic is implementing digital solutions and building a modern financial system based on technology, openness, inclusiveness and trust,” he said.
Sadyr Japarov said that the country is developing non-cash payments, mobile financial solutions, electronic government services, digital identification systems and modern banking technologies.
According to him, the opening of the new Eldik Bank building is a reflection of the changes and development taking place in the country.
“This is not just a new building. This is an indicator that we are confidently moving forward,” the head of state said.
The President said that Eldik Bank today is one of the largest banks in the country. According to him, a financial institution with a capital of more than 80 billion soms is involved in the implementation of the strategic objectives of the state.
Sadyr Japarov noted that the bank continues the traditions of savings, ensures financial inclusion and strengthens citizens’ confidence in the banking system.
According to him, Eldik Bank is actively involved in financing infrastructure, energy, transport and social projects of national importance.
Among such areas, the president named projects in the field of hydropower, development of transport infrastructure, the aviation industry, as well as support for educational institutions.
The head of state also said that Eldik Bank entered the international capital markets for the first time in the history of Kyrgyzstan.
“This speaks to the confidence of international investors not only in the bank, but also in our country, in Kyrgyzstan and the ongoing reforms,” he said.
The president called the bank’s receipt of accreditation from the Green Climate Fund another important achievement. According to him, this opens up new opportunities for Kyrgyzstan to attract international climate finance and implement projects in the field of green economy.
Addressing the bank’s employees, Sadyr Japarov emphasized that their work is behind the achievements of the financial institution.
“The trust of the people and the stability of the banking system depend on your professionalism and conscientious work,” the president said.
The head of state added that the bank faces large-scale tasks: strengthening financial stability, developing digital technologies, introducing modern innovative solutions and expanding citizens’ access to financial services.
