The body of a 73-year-old resident of the village of Makhshevad, Ayni district, Mukarram Koriev, was found in a ravine in the mountains a day after his disappearance. This was reported to Asia-Plus by Jalol Jalilzoda, chairman of the Fondaryo jamoat, which includes the village of Makhshevad.
According to him, on the evening of May 26, Koriev climbed into the mountains to collect medicinal herbs.
“He was not at the holiday prayer on the occasion of Idi Kurbon, and then it turned out that he had not returned from the mountains. By the afternoon of May 27, local residents discovered his body about 100 meters down the mountainside. After a forensic examination on the morning of May 28, he was buried,” Jalilzoda said.
The head of the jamoat did not provide other details, noting only that the deceased collected medicinal herbs every spring and prepared medicinal products from them for the residents.
