Dino Zof, the former captain of the legendary national team that won the World Cup in 1982, talks about the present and the future of Juventus.
“Yes, I thought Juventus would be able to improve their ranking with Luciano Spalletti, but it’s a pity,” the former Juventus goalkeeper told Corriere della Sera.
How does a world champion feel about the fact that Italy will not play in the World Cup for the third time?
“Unfortunately, it’s difficult for a national team that has won four World Cups. One game can go wrong for you, but the second and third, to hell with it. A coach has to know the strength of his team, if you have a Fiat 500, you have to lead it like a Fiat 500, you have to adapt to it without too many statements. And, let’s be clear, you can win with a Fiat 500.”
So how do we start over?
“There have always been good young players in the under-21 team, but they have to constantly focus on a tough battle, not just sit on the bench. That’s my opinion. There are also some good Italian goalkeepers, and they should be appreciated.”
