Ukrainian drones launched a mass attack on the Leningrad region of Russia at night on June 3. The attack came hours before the opening of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (PXIF). happened.
Alexander Drozdenko, the governor of the Leningrad region, said that the air defense forces destroyed 30 drones in the territory of the region. He did not specify where the drones were shot down. The Ukrainian side has not yet made an official comment on this attack.
According to the PXIF program, the first events of the forum should begin at 10:00 on June 3. The conference is being held in the “Expoforum” complex, located in the south of St. Petersburg. Russian President Vladimir Putin’s main speech at the forum is scheduled for June 5. The German delegation is also expected to participate in the forum.
At the same time, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, warned that the Russian army may launch another large-scale missile and drone attack on Ukrainian cities a day ago. As a result of previous night attacks, more than 20 people were killed and more than 100 people were injured. The biggest losses were recorded in the cities of Kyiv and Dnipro.
According to the Air Force of Ukraine, on the night of June 3, some drones belonging to Russia were observed in the sky of the country, but so far no large-scale attack has been reported.
