Smartland turned 15 on May 5. For that reason, the editorial board of Smartland has gathered together and collected gold nuggets of the last 15 years. At this turning point, it’s fun to recall all this fun, funny and dust off all the things we had all long forgotten.
2017 was a big year for broadcaster Sigvalda Kaldalóns, but then he decided to follow his dream and move abroad, something that everyone dreams of but far too few make it come true.
Broadcaster Sigvaldi Kaldalóns, or Svali as he is called, decided to sell the apartment and move to Tenerife with his family in 2017. “We sat together in a tent while camping this summer and were discussing the future. In this conversation, we went from discussing how nice it would be to go abroad next Christmas to why we didn’t just move,” said Svali in the fall of 2017.
To begin with, Svali wrote regular columns and reported, among other things, when he found an apartment for the family. He said the rental prices are very different in Tenerife than in Iceland.
