The spatial guidance system in the central area of Medina enhances the experience of the guests and visitors
The spatial guidance system in the central area surrounding the Prophet’s Mosque enhances the experience of the guests of God and visitors coming to Medina after performing the Hajj rituals, by facilitating movement and access to various destinations and services with clarity and simplicity.
The system, developed by the Medina Region Development Authority, relies on integrated guide signs that are compatible with the cultural identity of Medina, providing spatial information and indications in Arabic and English, facilitating access to landmarks, sites and services in the central region.
The system highlights the urban and cultural character of Medina through unified designs that reflect the identity of the place. It also includes dividing the central area into neighborhoods bearing historical names, in addition to guidance to the main destinations and cultural and historical landmarks in the vicinity of the Prophet’s Mosque.
The system also contributes to supporting traffic safety and organizing pedestrian movement within the central area, in a way that enhances the quality of services provided to the pilgrims and visitors, coinciding with the Hajj season 1447 AH, and within the framework of the objectives of the Guests of Allah Service Program, one of the programs of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
