The Panamanian contemporary dance company COCO Contemporary Dance Company of Panama present the work summer next April 15 in the Áurea ‘Baby’ Torrijos Theater
The piece is part of the 2026 season of the group, which is currently a resident company in City of Artswith the support of Ministry of Culture of Panama. From this space they develop choreographic creation processes, artistic training and projects to promote the contemporary dance scene in the country.

Directed by the Panamanian choreographer Marlyn Attie, summer takes as its starting point the atmosphere of the Panamanian summer. The work proposes a scenic reading of this season as a shared experience marked by movement, rhythm and coexistence between bodies, as shared by the company in a statement.
Eight dancers participate on stage, accompanied by live musicians, who build a choreographic landscape where music and physical expression are intertwined. The proposal uses a contemporary dance language to explore sensations associated with summer, such as lightness, energy and collective encounter.

The April 15 performance, scheduled for 8:00 p.m., also previews a national tour the company will undertake in August. As part of this tour, Veranera will reach different cities in the country, including Colón, Chitré and David, with some functions included within the 2026 National Dance Meeting.
Tickets for the performance are available through panatickets.
