A defamation lawsuit that was filed against Boom SVG 106.9’s Dwight ‘Bing’ Joseph is currently pending at the High Court, as efforts are made at the rebuilding the radio station he operates that was engulfed in flames last week.
The defamation case, which has been under active case management since February 19, 2025 returned to the High Court yesterday, April 16, 2025 for additional case management. The lawsuit was filed by the Chief Executive Officer of District Chairs Marlon Bute, against Boom SVG 106.9’s Dwight ‘Bing’ Joseph.
Zhinga Horne-Edwards of Zhinga Horne- Edwards Chambers is representing the claimant, while Ronald Marks of The Law Firm of Marks & Marks is representing Joseph. This matter was brought up again in court less than a week after a fire engulfed a nearby domestic dwelling and also severely damaged Boom FM and Jujube Bookshop during the early morning hours of Friday, April 10, 2026.
Joseph told SEARCHLIGHT on April 15, that when he saw the damage to the station, he was in disbelief.
“I didn’t fathom anything like that…nowhere in my wildest dreams I expected anything like that, nowhere.”
Joseph said he went home exhausted and tired, but a lot of people had been constantly calling his phone, including Managing Director of Williams Electronics, Jules Williams. However, Joseph said he was not in the mental space to answer any of the calls.
