I was very pleased to receive Senator Félix Salgado Macedonio in Taxco, in a meeting of closeness, respect and coincidences for the good of our people,” Vega Carranza published on his social networks.

On Sunday the news broke: mayor’s father was missing. Nobody confirmed, until at 9 at night, more than 36 hours after the deprivation of liberty, the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) confirmed it and published the search sheet.

Unofficially, it has been reported that the deprivation of liberty of the mayor’s father was due to pressure from La Familia Michoacana, after an operation was carried out in recent weeks to seize merchandise, following a search in warehouses of products they control, such as beer.

On March 26, it was reported assurance in the municipality of Taxco of four warehouses and the arrest of seven alleged members of said criminal group, dedicated to the extortion.

On April 8, a man known as El Goku was arrested, accused of selling drugs.

For more than a decade, La Familia Michoacana has maintained tight control in Taxco: it controls almost everything, imposes the distribution of basic basket products, and has generalized extortion.
