Clashes between protesting students and the police have been going on for about 3 hours in front of the Ministry of Education, where the situation has become tense, while the blue uniforms have responded to the protesters with tear gas and pressurized water. The protest started at 14:00 with calls against Prime Minister Edi Rama and his Government.
For about 60 minutes, the students peacefully continued the protest with calls and slogans against the government, while then they threw eggs and pavement tiles towards the Ministry building, breaking the windows of the institution. They also demolished the railings of the sidewalk, while they managed to open one of the metal doors of the Ministry.
The police intervened with tear gas and pressurized water, trying to disperse the students.
But the students have continued the resistance in front of the institution, as they have been joined by thousands of others who marched from the “Dëşmorët e Kombit” Boulevard. Clashes continue while the police do not spare tear gas, without criteria, and pressurized water on young people.
The students demand the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the departure of his government.
