The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, announces changes in the government of Ukraine. He writes that on X Sunday.
There is extensive changes underway at the top of the Ukrainian leadership.
This is what the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyj, writes in a post on X on Sunday.
The president also adds that he has offered the country’s prime minister, Julija Svyrydenko, a new role.
– I have offered her the opportunity to lead a new and important area of relations with a core partner, writes Zelenskyj and adds:
– I expect that together with the members of parliament we will implement the corresponding changes in the government of Ukraine. There will also be changes among the heads of the law enforcement authorities.
With the exception of the prime minister, Zelenskyj does not mention any names of who will lose or gain posts.
According to the announcement from the president, the reason for the changes is a new political strategy – both foreign and domestic.
– There are new challenges and new tasks. All work in Ukraine’s frontline and border regions, which are daily exposed to Russian attacks, must be significantly strengthened, Zelensky writes.
He elaborates that Ukraine must prepare for winter and be ready for any threat that arises.
– The transformation of the state-owned enterprises, on which Ukraine’s resilience largely depends, must be accelerated.
– Ukraine’s agreements with its partners on reconstruction also require separate and targeted attention, Zelensky writes.
Julija Svyrydenko writes in a post on X that she “still stands ready to serve Ukraine and solve any task”.
– I am proud to have had the honor of heading the government during one of the most difficult periods in Ukraine’s modern history, she writes.
In the post, Svyrydenko does not directly confirm that she is stepping down as prime minister. But she writes that she has discussed “the next steps” with Zelenskyj.
Svyrydenko has been the country’s prime minister since July 2025. Before that, she was Ukraine’s economy minister and deputy prime minister.
When Zelenskyy appointed her to the post, it was said that together they had discussed concrete measures to strengthen Ukraine’s economy, expand support schemes for Ukrainians and increase arms production in the country.
– In order to achieve this goal, we are initiating a transformation of Ukraine’s leadership, said Zelenskyj at the time in a post on X.
