While celebrating “Citizen’s Day” in Maralik, a school-age boy approached Nikol Pashinyan, apologized and asked. “Mr. Pashinyan, why did you decide to launch an attack against the church?”
Nikol Pashinyan answered: “Did I start an attack against the church? I started an attack for the sake of the church?” After saying this, he tried to leave.
The young man called out, “Excuse me,” stopping her again. Rushing Nikol Pashinyan stopped and said: “Say, say, come!”
The boy continued. “You are arguing that it is for the Catholicos, right, that the Holy Etchmiadzin Mother See is in defilement, you must free the church from the Catholicos, but the Catholicos is appointed by God and the Catholicos does not have a term until death, and no one has the right to launch an attack against the Catholicos, because it concerns the church.”
Nikol Pashinyan answered: “But when the Catholicos breaks the vow he made in front of the altar, it means that he has broken the covenant with God and violated it. It should be recorded and have consequences. Are you familiar with taking the vow of celibacy?”
“I know him,” answered the boy. Pashinyan advised him to go, search and read the material, see what lines there are, what duties and comparisons to make.
“It is their Constitution, when the country’s political leadership violates the Constitution and the rules of conduct, there are mechanisms to remove them, and the same applies to the church,” Pashinyan said, quoting words from the Bible.
The young man countered that the same Bible says, “Judge not, lest you be judged.” Nikol Pashinyan responded: “No, wait a minute, you’re half-hearted, the Bible says: don’t judge, so that you won’t be judged, because with what judgment you will be judged, with the same judgment you will be judged, with the measure you measure, you will be measured with the same measure. Now I judge and I am ready to be judged by the same judgment.”
Nikol Pashinyan left, the young man exclaimed: “But I’m sorry, I haven’t finished.”
“Dear brother, time is limited,” said the prime minister and left.
