Educational authorities and the Salto Police investigate an episode that occurred this Monday at high school No. 3where a 15 year old student was detected inside the educational center using a compressed air pistol and shooting in the presence of other students.
According to Telemundo (Channel 12), a classmate filmed one of the moments in which the teenager manipulated the weapon. In the images you can see how He loads the gun and shoots in the direction of another student who was next to the blackboard.although without projectiles.
The departmental inspector of Secondary School, Isabel Delgueexplained to the same medium that the incident occurred during one of the breaks. “The students who felt intimidated did not notify the seconded student, they notified their mothers directly, who were the ones who gave notice.. When the teacher enters the room, he notices the presence of that foreign object, he notifies the seconded student, who raises the weapon and the protocol is immediately activated,” he said.
In turn, he indicated that, as seen in the video, at no time was there a situation of “panic” or “disorder” among the students. “It is not dedramatizing the situation; It’s not a story, it’s the facts.“He said. He also pointed out that when he arrived at the center the weapon was already in the hands of the secondment and the mothers, the director, the social worker and the Police were present.
“The students were in class with their teachers, and that was the institutional climate until the father arrived, in this case the student’s adult reference. There the student was summoned and explained to her how the procedure was going to continue.”he added.
Delgue also explained that the origin of the weapon and why the teenager took it to high school is being investigated. “What the adult representative stated is that there are no weapons in his house. The student said that it was someone else who gave it to her and that she had to take it to another placebeyond the fact that this situation did occur in high school,” he noted.
Likewise, he indicated that The girl’s father was “very surprised” by what happened and stressed that these types of episodes “break with the work that is done daily in institutions.”
The police investigation continues, while at the educational level the Pedagogical Advisory Council (CAP) will be convened and the intervention of the Community Police and a multidisciplinary team is expected.
