The Greenland Police are investigating a case where one or more unknown perpetrators entered a home via an unlocked door and stole mobile phones to the value of DKK 20,000. Citizens are asked to be careful when selling used mobile phones.
The night of Monday, between 23:00 and 08:00 on Monday morning, one or more unknown perpetrators entered an apartment via an unlocked door and stole a total of three mobile phones.
It happened at a private address in Nuuk. This is according to the head of duty at the Greenland Police, Hans-Peter Berthelsen, to Sermitsiaq.
– The residents had forgotten to lock the door before going to bed. During the night, a person or persons entered the apartment. They then stole mobile phones worth around DKK 20,000, says Hans-Peter Berthelsen.
He encourages citizens to make sure that a mobile phone comes with packaging or a receipt if they were to buy a used mobile phone.
