The Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD) reported this Thursday that on Sunday, April 12, it will present to the country a roadmap for the democratic transition in Venezuela. The announcement came at the end of an extraordinary meeting of its main leaders.
“Next Sunday, April 12, within the framework of this national meeting, we will present the country with a roadmap for the democratic transition,” the coalition wrote on its official X account.
The meeting included, among others, the general secretary of the PUD, Roberto Enríquez; former political prisoners Juan Pablo Guanipa and Enzo Scarano; former deputy Delsa Solórzano, from Encuentro Ciudadano; Henry Ramos Allup, of Democratic Action, and Andrés Velásquez, of La Causa R.
According to the organization, at the meeting they prepared the “great national meeting” that will bring together all the platforms of the regions, municipalities and parishes. The leaders reiterated the importance of working together “in favor of the freedom of all political prisoners.”
The PUD supports opposition leader María Corina Machado, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, and former presidential candidate Edmundo González Urrutia, who competed in the July 2024 elections that the opposition denounced as fraudulent.
