The spokesperson of Herat municipality, Khan Mohammad Yousafzai, told Bakhtar Agency that these canals were built in the third district of the city with the financial support of the municipality at a cost of 7 million 500 thousand Afghanis.
Mr. Yousafzai added that these canals have been built for better management of surface water, prevention of destruction of roads and improvement of urban infrastructure.
At the same time, a number of residents of the third district of Herat city expressed their happiness at the completion of these canals and said that they will not spare any kind of assistance to support the public projects.
It is worth noting that in some other districts of this province, the same projects have been completed and handed over for use.
