‘A whole civilization will die tonight,’ says Trump in dramatic social media post
U.S. President Donald Trump dramatically escalated his rhetoric ahead of his 8 p.m. ET deadline for Iran to lift its blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
“A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post Tuesday morning.
He said a “complete and total regime change” could lead to “something revolutionarily wonderful …. WHO KNOWS?” while warning that “one of the most important moments” in world history could unfold tonight.
The comments suggest the U.S. president is framing the standoff not just as a military confrontation, but as a potential turning point for Iran’s political future.
