The US has munitions stockpiles all over the world and can continue attacks on Iran for weeks, says Donald Trump. He also mentions several models for a possible future transfer of power in Iran, and here he compares it to the recent American intervention in Venezuela and calls it a perfect scenario.
US and Israeli attacks in Iran may continue for four to five weeks at current levels if possible.
This is what the President of the United States, Donald Trump, tells The New York Times.
Trump says that the US has plenty of missiles and bombs to continue the attacks for a month.
– We have planned for four to five weeks.
– It won’t be difficult for us. We have large quantities of ammunition. We get ammunition stored in different countries all over the world, says Donald Trump to the newspaper.
On Saturday morning, the United States launched a large-scale air strike against Iran in cooperation with Israel. Since then, several senior Iranian leaders have been killed. Among others, Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In the interview with The New York Times, Donald Trump says that he has also thought about who will lead the country when the military operation is over.
The president says he has “three very good choices” but does not want to name them.
Trump also mentions several models for a possible future transfer of power in Iran.
Here the president mentions Venezuela as an example. In January, the US military captured the country’s president, Nicolás Maduro. Maduro is accused in a case of drug trafficking in the United States.
Vice President Delcy Rodríguez has temporarily assumed the presidency of Venezuela and is trying to accommodate demands from the Trump administration.
– What we did in Venezuela, I think, is the perfect scenario, says Donald Trump to The New York Times.
Three US soldiers have so far lost their lives after the US and Israel launched the attacks on Saturday.
Donald Trump said Sunday night in a video on his social media, Truth Social, that several Americans will probably lose their lives before the operation is over.
– That’s probably how it will be. But we will do everything to prevent that from happening, he said.
