Toussaint nets 8 in Cox FA G-League win

Shemaiah Toussaint netted eight goals to lead Cox Football Academy to a 9-2 spanking of Moruga Police Youth Club in the South/Central Zone Sunflower Group of the T&T Football Association (TTFA) G-League Under-15 Division on Sunday, July 19.

Also on target for Cox Football Academy was Isabel Toussaint (no relation) at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium Training Field in Marabella, while Akeilah Forrester netted both goals for the Moruga Police Youth Club.

With the win, their fourth in five matches, Cox FA improved to 12 points and joint top of the table with Point Pioneers, who won by default from Neo FA.

In the Under-13 Division, Isabel Toussaint netted a hat trick and J. Caddle the other to lead Cox FA to a 4-0 blanking of Moruga Police Youth Club for a third win in four outings, six points clear of both Moruga PYC and Point Pioneers.

Over in the Tobago Zone, Jewels SC emerged as champions of both the G-13 and G-15 divisions.

In the G-13 age group, Jewels SC won five of six matches to end with 16 points, six more than Black Panthers, while in the G-15 category, Jewels SC tallied 16 points as well, seven ahead of Tobago Chicas.

This weekend marks the final round of zonal matches in the North/East and South/Central Zones, where teams will compete for the remaining qualification spots.

Following the completion of the zonal phase, the competition will move into the ‘Big Eight’ knockout stage, with the top two teams from each zone, along with the two best third-placed teams overall, advancing to compete for the 2026 TTFA G-League Championship.

The ‘Big Eight’ promises an exciting conclusion to another successful season of girls’ football, highlighting the continued growth of the women’s game and showcasing the next generation of talent being developed through the TTFA G-League.

This weekend will also feature the TTFA G-11 Festival, bringing together all G-11 teams from the North/East, South/Central, and Tobago Zones for a day dedicated to fun football, teamwork, and friendship.

Rather than focusing solely on competition, the festival is designed to celebrate participation by mixing players from different clubs into new teams, giving the girls the opportunity to make new friends, build confidence, and enjoy the game in a fun and inclusive environment.
