From October 19 to 22, 2026, the Dominica Botanic Gardens will be transformed into a vibrant Creole village alive with traditional Dominican cuisine, local beverages, live music, performances, artisan markets featuring crafts, arts, homemade products, plants, and a whole other range of Dominican-made products during the 5th edition of Ti Vilaj Kwéyòl-‘Tout Biten Domnik.
The four-day event, which was first introduced in October 2022, replaced the annual Creole in the Park (CITP), a precursor event leading to the World Creole Music Festival (WCMF).
“Today marks the beginning of an intentional island-wide conversation about who we are as a people through our food or language or music or craft or stories,” said Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Labour, Public Service Reform, Social Partnership Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development Gloria Joseph during the event’s official media launch held on Wednesday.
According to her, Ti Vilaj Kwéyòl is more than just an event. “It is a living, vivid expression of our Dominican identity ahead of the world-renowned World Creole Music Festival, designed to showcase the depth and diversity of our Creole heritage, our culture, to both locals and to the world.”
Joseph continued, “As we come here this morning, under the independence theme, our journey, our legacy, our future, Ti Vilaj Kwéyòl becomes a space where we honor our past, celebrate our present and imagine our future together.”
She said over 90 entrepreneurs in various fields will display their talents and skills at the event.
Joseph invites everyone to join in this celebration, “to patronize, to just have a great time…”
Ti Vilaj Kwéyòl is expected to run from 12 noon to 8:00 PM daily.
