The 16th citizen’s protest in “Skënderbej” Square for the resignation of Prime Minister Rama, has also brought strong testimonies from citizens who face serious problems in the health system. A citizen present at the protest denounced the conditions in which dialysis patients are treated.
“They look at us like animals, let’s go to that minister who wanders from plane to plane, let’s go to Edi Rama to see where dialysis is done, two meters underground, in the basement. There is only one door, the patients enter there like animals and the door is closed”. he declared to News24.
According to the protester, one of the biggest concerns remains the lack of vital medications for dialysis patients.
“I have raised the problem several times. We have a drug that is for potassium in the heart, we can’t find it. It is not in our pharmacies at all, it is smuggled. I get it in Italy, 32 euros, in Greece I get it for 40 euros, here I go and get 90 thousand lek, smuggling. This is the crime that is committed, the sickest crime. Medicines are stolen from the oncologist, not one of them resigns, but they are appointed.”he said.
At the end of his speech, he declared that “Edi Rama does not govern, but rules. If he feels sorry for the people, he should resign.”
