Istanbul Police Department Public Order Branch Directorate Homicide Bureau teams started a comprehensive study to shed light on the murder of Yusuf İnan, which took place in Atalar District of Kartal district on June 26. Police forces examined the security camera recordings in the region and determined that 27-year-old İnan had an argument with 3 suspects while passing in front of the workplace, and was then beaten and stabbed.
SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION AT THE BORDER
Police teams tracked down the suspects who escaped after the incident and identified Ö.S. and B.Ç. were preparing to escape abroad illegally via Edirne. As a result of the operation organized in coordination with the Provincial Gendarmerie Command, two suspects were caught in the border region. During the investigations, it was determined that Ö.S. stabbed Yusuf İnan and B.Ç. beat him. Deepening the investigation, the teams detained 5 more suspects who were linked to the murder and determined to have helped the suspects, with simultaneous raids in Istanbul.
HE BROUGHT HIS FAMILY TO ISTANBUL
A total of 7 suspects, whose legal procedures were completed at the police, were referred to the judicial authorities. On the other hand, a detail about the family of Yusuf İnan, who lost his life, also emerged. It was learned that İnan’s father died in Adıyaman during the earthquakes that occurred on February 6, 2023, and that İnan brought him from Adıyaman to Istanbul in order to protect his two siblings and his mother, who was undergoing cancer treatment.
