The President of the United States, Donald Trump, must pay an amount corresponding to approximately 33 million Danish kroner in compensation.
The United States Supreme Court has on Monday refused to hear an appeal by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, in a case in which he has been ordered to pay a million damages for sexual assault and defamation against the author E. Jean Carroll.
CNN writes that.
The original warrant concerns an incident in 1996 in a fitting room in the department store Bergdorf Goodman in the American city of New York City.
Here, Carroll claims that Trump raped her.
Carroll believes she was subsequently defamed in a Trump post on Truth Social in October 2022, in which Trump called her allegations a fraud.
Jurors have not found it proven that Trump raped Carroll, but they awarded her damages of $2.02 million for sexual assault and $2.98 million for being the victim of defamation.
With the decision from the Supreme Court, Trump must now pay Carroll the compensation of a total of five million dollars.
This corresponds to approximately 33 million Danish kroner.
