In the opening ceremony of these investigations, Kapisa Governor Qari Ehsanullah Briyal said that the start of this project is an important step in the water supply of Kabul city and with the completion of the project, the problem of water shortage of the residents of Kabul city will be solved once and for all.
At the same time, the governor of Parwan Sheikh Azizul Rahman Mansour also congratulated the residents of Kabul city on the start of the technical research of this project and said that the implementation and construction of big projects in different parts of the country is going on.
Also, the governor of Kabul, Mullah Aminullah Obeid, said that the start of this project is an important step in solving the problem of water shortage in Kabul city and the Islamic Emirate is trying to implement all-purpose projects.
Later, the Minister of Water and Energy, Mullah Muhammad Yunus Akhundzada, said that the necessary researches for transporting water to Kabul have been conducted and various ways of transporting water have been studied.
He added that the transfer of water from Panjsher may affect the supply of water needed for agriculture in Kapisa and Parwan provinces; Therefore, according to the conducted research and the agreement, Sayad region has been selected for water transfer.
He said that this project will be planned and designed by domestic engineers and the ministry is trying to complete the technical and practical work on time.
According to him, the water of this project will be sent to New Kabul city and it is decided that another dam project will be opened in Kabul in the near future.
It is worth noting that the length of this water transfer project is estimated to be around 55 km and it is set to send around 198 million cubic meters of water to Kabul city every year.
