The Platform for the Language places Andorra between the territories where the Catalan has registered progress during the last year, despite warning that the language continues to be in a situation of “linguistic emergency” throughout the linguistic domain. In the 2026 CAT Reportthe entity emphasizes that in 2025 Andorra began to sanction businesses that did not comply with the obligations established by the Law of the Own and Official Language. During the year they opened 100 filesof which two ended in penalty11 were closed after the companies corrected the irregularities and 73 were still pending resolution.
The report also emphasizes that the new legislation has boosted the interest in learning Catalan. Registrations for the official exams for January 2026 reached 930 people25.7% more than the previous year, while in June 2025 there were 900 registered28.6% more than in June 2024. During the 2024-2025 academic year, 9,562 people signed up for the Government’s Catalan courses5.7% more than the previous year.
The entity also collects other indicators of the presence of Catalan linked to the principalitylike the fact that Andorra it concentrates 0.8% of active content creation projects in Catalan on the networks. In addition, the report includes the country within the scope of the Compendium.cat portal, which gathers legal and linguistic resources from the various territories of the Catalan linguistic domain.
