Upcoming media negotiations in Denmark will explore opportunities for more Greenlandic and Faroese life and culture in the Danish media image, says the Danish minister.
Minister of Culture Zenia Stampe believes that recent years have shown the importance of the joint conversation in the Commonwealth.
This should also be reflected in the media coverage, emphasizes the Danish Minister of Culture in a reply to Member of Parliament Emilie Schytte:
– For me, it is completely natural that the life and culture of the Greenlanders and the Faroes should have a greater place in the Danish media image, says Zenia Stampe.
Emilie Schytte would like to know if the minister is ready to update public service agreements with DR and TV 2 to ensure more coverage of Greenland and the Faroe Islands.
However, the Minister of Culture does not say exactly how she will implement her wish for more North Atlantic life and culture in the media.
– I look forward to discussing how this can be concretely implemented with the parties of the Folketing at the upcoming media negotiations, she elaborates in the answer to the Folketing.
Zenia Stampe also emphasizes that DR is already obliged to convey content about and from the Commonwealth.
