The prostitution itinerant has taken root this year in houses and accommodation for temporary use around Andorra. An investigation of diarymade from digital ads, numbers of whatsapp and conversations held with about twenty women who they offer sexual serviceshas made it possible to place three foci of activity: one at the Headquarters of Urgell and two within the country, a Escaldes-Engordany and Encamp. The operation is repeated with an almost copied mechanism. The portals show photographs, personal profiles and a contact phone number. The conversation quickly turns to availability, the area, the rates and terms of service. The answers, often short and very similar, point to an organized activity, although the signs collected do not allow us to conclusively state that all the cases depend on the same criminal network
Most of the women would be young people from Latin American countries
Most of the women contacted are presented as ajeggs from Latin American countries. Some explain that they are in a border town of theHigh Urgell and that they cannot go up to Andorra because they do not have documentation or because they do not want to expose themselves to a control at the border. In these cases, they refer customers to the same meeting point in the population, without offering alternatives within the principality.
Active points detected
withinAndorrathe research has detected two hotspots. The first is located in Escaldes-Engordanyin one hotel they use as temporary accommodationwhere several women claim that they provide services and where they describe rotations between workers entering and leaving the country. Some sources contacted claim that they always work in that spacewhile others indicate that presence varies by day and availability.
The pattern fits with cases investigated this year by police
The second Andorran focus is in Encampalso in one establishment of apartmentswhere the women consulted offer services 24 hours. The message is similar: they confirm the area, specify the price and provide instructions to get there when the customer accepts the conditions. The conversations show a discreet, fast and sustained system in digital channels.
The rates contrasted between the women consulted they are very similar. The half an hour swings between the 70 and 80 euroswhile lhour is between 130 and 150. Some only accept clients at the place they claim to be staying, but others offer departures “exclusive” to the client’s home or hotel with the aim of having more “discreet and private” meetings. This travel has an added cost of 150 euros, in addition to the taxi.
Very similar patterns
The pattern fits with the cases investigated this year by the police, who have placed prostitution in private flats i tourist apartments as an emerging reality. The phenomenon combines discretion, mobility and vulnerability: women without roots in the country, possible irregular situations and a difficult activity to follow when it moves through digital channels. The indications alone do not prove the existence of a single organization, but they do draw a circuit with very similar prices, language and forms of contact. A discrete map connecting the border with Escaldes and Encampand which places Andorra faced with an activity that is increasingly difficult to control. The digital trail is a gateway to it.
POLICE DETECTED THREE FLATS LINKED TO PROSTITUTION THIS YEAR
The first case of 2026 transpired in February, following a related research to one smuggling network which ended with five arrests. The inquiries led the agents to a flat in Andorra la Vella in which up to fourteen women would have worked.
The second case of this year is gone dismantle on March 5 in Encamp. The police intervened in a house after weeks of investigation for suspicious activity and found two alleged prostitutes and a customer, who was sanctioned. A woman from 32 years and was not a resident arrested with 14 grams of cough, wrappers for preparing doses and close to 1,400 euros in cash.
The last known case was detected in June in a tourist apartment in theDoctor Mitjavila avenueto Andorra la Vella The officers controlled eight non-resident women after a tip from the landlady, who reported that they had left without paying the rent. The regulations go after the client and pimping, not the women who practice.
