In the case of Samvel Karapetyan, Andranik Khachatryan and Vladimir Tarjumanyan, the leader of the “Strong Armenia” political force in the anti-corruption court chaired by Vahe Dolmazyan, the defense side petitioned the court to give the accused the right to vote on the day of the NA elections on June 7 and to return the passports in the court to their owners within the framework of the case.
The court partially satisfied the petition regarding Samvel Karapetyan. The presiding judge announced that since only RA citizens participate in the elections, the court decides to return only the passport of the Republic of Armenia to Samvel Karapetyan, while the other two remain in the court.
Taking into account that Samvel Karapetyan is registered in the city of Tashir, Lori region, but actually lives in the city of Yerevan, in order to participate in the elections on June 7, he will send an appropriate document to the Probation Service, so that they know where and at what time they will accompany him. For this purpose, the service and the defense side will contact and agree.
Thus the court session was postponed. The next session will be held on June 12, at 14:00.
After the session, Samvel Karapetyan answered the question of Aravot.am where he will exercise his electoral right on June 7: in Tashir, where he is registered, or in Yerevan, where he actually lives. “According to the place of residence, although I would be happy, I would go and vote in the village.”
