Stafanie Taylor reached another historic milestone on Wednesday as West Indies Women defeated Zimbabwe by eight wickets in Harare to complete a 3-0 T20 International series sweep.
Taylor became only the fourth woman to score 3 000 runs and take 100 wickets in T20 Internationals, capping a Player-of-the-Match performance with an unbeaten 64.
She was well supported by Player-of-the-Series Jahzara Claxton, who contributed 38 with the bat and finished the three-match series with 73 runs and seven wickets.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Zimbabwe made another steady start to the powerplay, reaching 40 for one at the end of the six-over period.
Beloved Biza was dismissed in the fourth over for 21, having shared in a 27-run opening partnership with Kelis Ndhlovu.
Ndhlovu went on to top score with a well-played 63 from 48 balls, including six fours and three sixes, but she got little support, as Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano was dismissed for seven, Chiedza Dhururu nine and Nyasha Gwanzura for three, as Zimbabwe slipped to 90 for four.
Christine Mutasa was left unbeaten on 24 from 19 deliveries, as Zimbabwe were restricted to 142 for six from their allotted 20 overs.
Taylor took two wickets during a four-over spell that cost just eight runs, and Claxton took two for 35, while captain Chinelle Henry and Shawnisha Hector grabbed a wicket apiece.
In their reply, West Indies lost Realeanna Grimmond for 17 in the third over but reached 43 for one at the end of the powerplay.
Taylor then joined Claxton at the wicket, with the pair sharing in a 71-run second-wicket stand, before the latter was dismissed for 38 from 37 deliveries including eight fours.
Taylor batted superbly to anchor the West Indies’ victory push, as they sealed the win at 143 for two in the 17th over.
At that point, she was unbeaten on 64 from 39 balls, with her innings including 11 fours.
With her at the wicket was Jannillea Glasgow, who was unbeaten on a run-a-ball 15.
West Indies were without the services of regular captain Hayley Matthews for the T20 series and won the preceding One Day International Series 2-1.
