A natural painting that combines the magic of mountains and the greenness of trees

Tabardaqa, or as its people and visitors like to call it “Constantine Minor”, is a tourist village in the state of Khenchela and a natural painting that contains the magic of the mountains, the greenness of the trees and the murmur of the waters, which have always made it one of the most beautiful destinations that visitors visit in search of tranquility and the beauty of nature. These days, this natural gem is experiencing a worrying situation due to water scarcity, in a scene that threatens the vegetation and trees that have been a symbol of the beauty of the region for years.
The concerns of the residents of the region and those who care about it indicate that “Ain al-Hamam,” which previously flowed abundantly through the streams and contributed to irrigating the lands and preserving the trees, has dried up almost completely, while the valley, which was one of the sources of life in the region, has become scarce in water, which has directly affected agricultural activity and the trees that are now facing the threat of drought.
In the face of this situation, the residents of the region and those interested in preserving the nature of Tabardaqa are raising an urgent appeal to the local authorities and concerned sectors, in order to intervene before the water crisis turns into an environmental disaster that threatens one of the most important tourist areas in the state of Khenchela. The basic demand, according to the young man Murad, a resident of the region, is to support the watermen by digging an artesian well designated for agricultural irrigation, which allows the provision of a sustainable water source that helps save trees and preserve agricultural lands, and gradually restores life to the green spaces that characterize Taberdaqa.
According to Murad, the matter is not only an agricultural demand, but also an issue related to preserving the natural and touristic components of the region, given that the greenery of Tabardaqa, its trees and water constitute an essential part of its tourist attraction.
Residents fear that the continued drought and water scarcity will lead to a decline in green spaces and damage to fruit trees and plants that have been resilient to climatic conditions for years, which may cause Tabbarda to lose part of its natural privacy that made it a destination for visitors. In light of the increasing interest in mountain and natural tourism, there appears to be an urgent need to protect such sites, not only by promoting them and attracting visitors and tourists together.
Bardaqa does not need much today, as much as it needs water, which was the secret of its greenery, the title of its beauty, and the lifeline that it cannot do without.
