SAN MARINO – Taxation, difficulties in accessing housing, healthcare waiting lists and youth hardship were at the center of discussion in the Great and General Council during the communications paragraph. The interventions highlighted critical issues in public services and the need to follow up on the tools already approved, with particular attention to the needs of citizens and new generations.
Electronic invoicing and operational critical issues
The Secretary of State for Internal Affairs Andrea Belluzzi reported on the progress of the round table relating to the general income tax (IGR) and on the activity of the Fiscal Observatory. He also addressed the return of council work to Palazzo Pubblico, with the use of the P5 car park, and issues related to the limited traffic zone (ZTL) and the Rallylegend.
Gaetano Troina (D-ML) expressed concern about the operational difficulties reported by professionals in view of the introduction of mandatory electronic invoicing. The councilor also contested the systematic presence of the 35-year limit in the Public Administration tenders and raised questions about the future of the hospital structure.
Home and healthcare, the criticisms of Repubblica Futura
He spoke on the topic of sovereignty and the protection of citizens Andrea Menicucci (RF), according to which the ability of a State to protect its population constitutes a central element of sovereignty itself.
The councilor recalled the difficulties in finding housing at sustainable prices and the distortions of the real estate market. On the healthcare front he criticized the management of the Institute for Social Security (ISS), arguing that choices should respond mainly to clinical rather than political criteria.
Menicucci also highlighted the lengthening of waiting lists, which in his opinion risks pushing a growing number of people towards resorting to private services.
Youth discomfort and use of social networks
Attention was also focused on young people with the intervention of Tomaso Rossini (PSD), which recalled the recent street demonstrations in Europe, characterized by the participation of very young people and episodes of vandalism.
Rossini asked the Government to accelerate the implementation of the decrees and tools already approved by the Council to address youth hardship. Among the measures indicated are the strengthening of youth information desks, psychological support in schools and initiatives to promote greater awareness in the use of social networks.
The debate has thus brought various issues that impact daily life in the Republic back to the center of attention, from the economic sustainability of services and housing to the need to strengthen prevention and support tools for the new generations.
